Lizards

I was told some years ago that when I hear the sound of a house lizard, I need to knock on wood and wish for good luck. I still do it, out of habit, and not because I believe in the powers of that distinct tsk, tsk sounds. I am also fascinated how they can detach their tail to escape their predator as I often find  some moving tails whether I am in the kitchen or in the garden tending the plants.

One day I was bored waiting for my special student to finish his work, I started working on another set of illustrations and this time, lizards. Frogs and lizards are two things that fascinate my student that why I drew some for him. Here are some of my lizard sketches.

Namib Web-Footed Gecko

Himalayan Tree Dragons

Gila Monster

Blue-Tailed Tree Lizard

Basilisk

Wonder Gecko

Leopard Lizard

And nestled amongst the back of our shoe racks in school is a blind lizard that became a source of excitement for the children to look at every morning. The novelty is gone but the lizard had stayed put and is often off to search for food in the evening. We knew it moves because we find it in different positions everyday.

Tsk, tsk, tsk... good luck for me! (I need some!)

  7. Hello cher kat,

Marami na rin pero mostly artworks for auction. I like drawing pero I am more inspired when I am doing it with someone kasi na-cha-challenge ako, lol!

I appreciate lizards kasi nga, bug eaters sila. Kahit nga monitor lizards I like wag lang buwaya in my garden.

  14. Don't you have any in there Ms. LiLi? There are many in Thailand wherever you go. I went to the floating market and there were monitor lizards lying around bathing under the sun. :)

  18. Wow sir Jonathan, mahusay din po pala kayo sa sketching/drawing. Natuwa ako sa mga butiki :D

Sa amin naman, pag may narinig kang humuhuning butiki, may paparating daw na bisita sa bahay. I don't know if it was a fact or myth lng lol

Yung last picture ng lizard, parang isa syang gecko?

  19. Hi Simon,

There is one mom of one of my students who is dreadfully scared of lizards even if it is very small. Guess we have all our chosen pets and pests.

  27. But these are wonderful. Amazing, your talent.

I used to draw, and even tried painting, too. (Watercolours be the preferred... er, diversion.).

But I get frustrated easily. A bad quality, I know. Maybe will pick it up again, who knows. (You can even teach me. The thought alone excited me so much.).

Oh why is it that when I comment, either I get turned on in the end, or I turn to mush? I miss you. I just miss you so very much.
