Stress Free Ratchaburi

I always dream that one day I will be tilling the soil of my field while caring for animals in my farm. A simple life, devoid of work politics and life inducing stress. A profound duty to be with nature and nurture the things around. Just like my recent trip.

Suan Phueng District of Ratchaburi
Vast entry to Swiss Valley
Scenery Vintage Farm
Wanted: One Giant to dig
Pumpkins and Candle tree
Waiting for their shepherd
Extra special sheep
The well of life
Not bad for a day since I was refreshed, not by the smell of roaming sheep but by the colours and simplicity of country life. I am not a city person so I ought to find solace in a place that's peaceful and close to nature. Which do you prefer, living in the city or in the countryside?

  1. I love country life, but I prefer city life more. A fusion of both is what I like the best. :)

  2. Love your answer. I can stay in the countryside for a long time but once in a while, a stroll around the city to see the busyness is a welcome treat. Thanks Geosef!

  3. I can stay in the countryside as long as there's the internet and a vehicle to get me around or take me to the city whenever I want to. Is this a sign that I'm getting old? Lol. I dont like parties anymore. I prefer conversations over coffee than beer now. Classical, jazz and acoustics over alternative, pop and rock... Oh my! I wanna go to the beach! #anggulokongkausap #anglayongsagotsatanong lol!

  5. Aahh, farm life. Pangarap ko rin ang ganyan sir Jonathan. Yung kahit maliit lng na lupain na tataniman ko ng mga gulay then may konting farm animals na pwedeng alagaan :)

  6. I remember, back in Bohol when I was in elementary, we had goats. We didn't live in the country but in Tagbilaran City. We had pigs and chicken and abundant blessings from our fruit trees in our yard. We had kaimito, lemonsito, bananas, coconuts, coffee, jack fruit, santol, bayabas, malunggay, papayas, kamote, gabi, kamoteng kahoy and many more. Stores closed so early during the weekend. There were no malls back then too. There was no traffic lights, escalator and elevators. We walked to school everyday. We knew when tourists hit our beaches because they'd wear bathing suits. Life was simpler then. :)

  8. Hi Cher Kat,

You just have different choices right now and priorities o kailangan mo talaga ng isang grandeng bakasyon. I went to Ratchaburi because I needed a break from school and I enjoyed that part. School starts again this Monday and I dread the coming workload including the Christmas celebration in school. But, thinking of that, it means another vacation is to come.

I do agree with living in the countryside but with wi-fi and a car/truck to go around. I might visit you one day in your own farm.

  9. Hello Ric,

Oo nga, I was actually thinking if we do have something similar like these in the Philippines. Each and every provinces have their own tourist attractions that invite spending money thus economic growth and livelihood for all.

  10. Hi fiel-kun,

Tama, self-suffciency ang peg. Yan ang pangarap at adhikain ng hari ng Thailand, that everyone can sustain their own living by mere provision of food within their reach.

Mayroong lot for rice and vegetables. May fruit trees at pond for fish. Then bigayanang mga kapitbahay. Ok na tumira sa bukid.

  11. Hi Lili,

When I went to Palawan two summers ago, I was inspired by simple living so I actually made inquiries about lots and the weather. However, when I visited your city last summer, I was like in heaven. The people were friendly, the weather so good, and the luscious scenery means tress, flowers and fruits.

How I long to have those things, to be one with nature so even for a smaller scale, I opted for a garden within my house so I will be surrounded by greens.

I also grew up taking care of animals: chickens, ducks, pigs, goats, dogs, rabbits, quails, and fish. We live in the city but we turned the backyard, into a tiny zoo. It was fun!

  12. Hello Ms. Joy,

The more reasons to visit you, ha,ha,ha. I know, I was a bit turned off by the smell of the sheep but after some time, I am petting them and they reminded me of my dog. You are living your dreams and I am so happy for you.

  13. That's really difficult for me to answer. My body is so adjusted to the fast-pace city life but when I'm looking for solace I prefer the countryside. Sometimes when I get too stressed out I would seek the peacefulness of the countryside, farm life or "probinsya life". But when things get inconvenient like I can't find an ATM, a nearby fast food resto or grocery store aaaw :(

  15. Hello Ms. Balut,

I wonder why I didn't reply to your comment, hmmm.... Good answers since I feel the same way though my leaning is towards country life. Plants and animals are probably my best companions since I couldn't feel at home being in a fast paced city.
