Sunflower Shots

It wasn't that bad when I left the house at nine in the morning to traverse almost three hours of riding time. I was to visit Lopburi, another province located along Central Thailand. The province boasts of many attractions most prominent would be their annual sunflower display. Saraburi, which I visited some months ago has the most photogenic sunflower fields but it is in Lopburi where fields of sunflowers cover around 300,000 rai ( one rai is equal to 1,600 sq. metres or 40mx40m).

I arrived past noon time at this magnificent field so all of the sunflowers were in drooping positions. The best time to visit is in the morning where the flowers are actually facing the sun. I managed to take some photographs even if they were shy.

So sunflowers for everyone in this wintry season. May all strive to be better in their lives and be kind to one another. Thank you for the visits and I wish you all happy holidays!

anyways, kahit gaano man ka gloomy ang araw natin, dapat lagi lang tayong nakatingala and follow the sun; just like the sunflowers!

    have a good day po!

  2. Yes they do. The seeds are made into sunflower seeds and very edible. They grow the flowers for tourists and as a scenic spots, harvest the seeds for planting and selling and then one cycle pass again.

Sagana nga sa araw sa Pinas but the problem is lack of space. Populated na kasi tayo so planting flowers for beauty sake, hindi yata programa ng gobyerno yan. Besides, sa dami ng bagyo, walang mag-iinvest.

Yes, sending sunshine to everyone including you. Have a great day and weekend, Fiel!

  3. Hi, Jonathan. I love sunflowers. In fact, I planted a few varieties in my backyard last summer.

Thank you for sharing this. It's lovely.

  4. I have never tried planting sunflower seeds in the garden for lack of sun. The three mango trees are casting shades over the plants that's why even the grass doesn't grow well. So it was a welcome thing to visit Lopburi for their sunflowers.

How did the sunflowers turn out Lili?

  5. It doesn't take long na mamumulaklak siya. It was very tempting to cut them and put it in a vase for our dining room.

I planted red sunflowers too. I wanted to do it again next year.

I love roasted sunflowers seed. My fave talaga. One time, I was mommy-sitting aka shopping buddy ng nanay ng friend ko. When she saw a huge pack of my fave snacks in my car, she asked me if we have birds. hehehe. Iyon pala pagkain ng mga parrots niya sa Cebu. LOL.

  8. Hi Lili,

Red sunflowers, must be stunning! I don't eat butog pakwan so when I saw sunflower seeds, hindi ko din naman nagustuhan. Nakakatamad kainin, ha,ha,ha.

I think sunflowers look good in a bunch. But there could also be drama in a one stemmed sunflower.

Di pa din po ako nakakapagtanim ng kahit ano as of this writing :(

Happy Holidays and Thank You for being part of my wonderful 2013 :D More years of Friendship and Sunny Days to Come :)

Hindi ko din alam ang pinagkaiba. Basta puwedeng ngatngatin I think so people like them.

Nakapagtanim ka naman, wisdom to your students. Great deed yan! And very heartwarming naman ang ending sentence. Thank you so much din and more sunshines to come!
