Student: I like the way you do your hair.
Teacher: Thank you.
Student: I like your bracelets too!
Teacher: Thank you. How about Mr. Jonathan? What do you like about him?
Student: He has nothing but a broken foot!
Me: Is that nice?
Student: And if you break your other foot, you will have two broken feet!
Me: Thank you!
And the Achmed in me wanted to shout-

Oh yes, I had an accident AGAIN! And I am on a cast and walks with crutches. What a year! Anyway, here's wishing you a...
Happy Lunar New Year!
Pardon the child. She's just being cruel without knowing it.
ReplyDeleteHope you get well soon.
Hehehe. Kids has no filter.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Jonathan.

Thanks Cristine. Much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteTake superduper extra care Cher Jo!
ReplyDeleteCalcium supplements and all!!
Kidssss!!! They have this talent of saying the most hurtful truths in the most not-so-hurtful-but-cute way.
Later mo na lang marerealize na it's offensive pala. Hahaha.
Nakakainis kasi, it doesnt make them less lovable at all.
My colleague laughed at it but I thought of it as something hurtful. Later, I just laughed at it because I knew the child well. She can say so many other things and it was good she only said that. Many thanks Cher Kat!
ReplyDeleteKids are kids :)
ReplyDeleteMy student don't mind saying "Miss you are so small/short..just like me." LOl
Hello Izdiher, long time no see in here. Yes, kids are kids and we just shrug our shoulders and smile. It is different when the grown ups speak up.
ReplyDeleteAnong sabi ko, Cher Jo? Di ba doble ingat dapat? Pasaway! lol chos
ReplyDeleteParang nanay lang... What happened to you this time? Natapilok ka? Or naapakan ng elepante sa paa? :)
Ikaw nga ang una kong naalala when I was at the hospital, naman, naman, another accident?
ReplyDeleteYes, I twisted my foot while walking sa school since hindi pantay yung cement side with the sand side. There was a loud sound, CRACK!, and everyone immediately told me it's a bone and it was! Wahhhh!!!
Get well soon ;) Remember weight bear on the affected foot as tolerated only and may the multivitamins they prescribed to you aid in the healing process :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon and have a Happy Lunar New Year to you! Enjoy your family and friends! All the best this year and much love to everyone!
I was at the hospital this morning, with all the hullaballoos, and re-casted. Hopefully mag heal ang broken bone sooner para makapagsapatos na ako.
ReplyDeleteAt ang bata, ilang buwan na lang naman at sa ibang school na siya papasok. Ganyan kasi magsalita ang ama, so ginagaya ng anak.
Last mo na 'yan this year ha, please lang! lol
ReplyDeleteOMG. Pinakakinatatakutan kong injury ang mabalian ng buto. I fear the immense pain. I cringe every time I imagine myself having a fracture or a discloted joint. *brrrrr*
Good morning Sep,
ReplyDeleteYes, last na ito, forever, amen! Hindi ko na kaya, magastos na masyado. Lumagpas na sa insurance policy ang gastos.
Masakit talaga siya that's why they put a cast. The difficulty is in the walking. Then the pain on the other leg because of the shifted weight.
Btw, I went to school for the last three days on my scooter, cast and crutches all, and it was challenging maneuvering into bad traffic.
awww... pagaling ka po sir Jonathan ^_^
ReplyDelete*sends cyber hilot*
Salamat sa cyber hilot, cyber hugs na lang hindi kasi puwedeng hilutin. Matigas ang cast!
ReplyDeleteMusta na Fiel?
Ha ha ha I love Achmed so I love you! ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't been lucky from here also. With my allergy and all :( But I'm sure better days is coming soon for both us.
Take extra care!
You were the first to comment about Achmed so I guess you know him. I heart him as well.
ReplyDeleteTake care as well Ms. Balut. Allergy had been a part of me since then so with another accident, double killjoy!
Aray, sakit non ah! I am sure your students love you anyway:)
ReplyDeletebroken foot? pagaling ka ser!
ReplyDeleteHi Ms. Joy,
ReplyDeleteYes, masakit nga esp when I walk, even with a cast. With proper rest and meds, I will recover soonest. Thanks!
Foot fracture and from a very freaky accident. Thanks Sir O.P.!
ReplyDeletewell, kids usually talk carelessly. But be happy, Jonathan because (you should know that) you deserve compliments not 'mockery' :D
ReplyDeletehave a nice day!

Hello Jonathan,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to read about your accident. Get well soon. I am praying for you.
Best wishes.
Hi Imme,
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice comment, compliments instead of mockery ( reminds me of a blogger).
That's why there are parents and teachers, to show them the right way.
Hello Joseph,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the prayers. God bless!
