Sand Post

Since it was the Thai New Year and everyone's out, I might as well do a road trip once again and this time, to the South of Thailand. We traversed hundreds of kilometres and after five hours decided to stop in a town called Bankrut. The seaside can be found in between two adjoining provinces Chumpon and Prachuap Kiri Khan

I happened to witness some of the works of the locals and Thai university students during their annual Bankrut Sand Fantasy Festival. Some were finished but others were in the finishing stages.

Group hug!

Peace men! Busog na kami!

What dah? It's like looking at a mirror!

So hot! Hotdog!

All I asked for Christmas were my two front teeth!

Sa malamig, sa malamig!

Shark: What big eyes you have!
Octopus: What big teeth you have!

Antok na me, good night!

Buntis ka, ne?

When I left the day after, the rain had been pouring and I was worried about the sand sculptures as they might had been ruined. But lo and behold, they were still intact when I passed them. They might had been protected by the palm trees since none had tarps on them. Were they probably sprayed with glue?

  8. Hello Cristine, the place is typical Asian. It reminds me of my days when we used to visit local beaches in the Philippines. I do like the cottage where I stayed though, cosy and so accessible to food.

    1. Yes.. Im thinking of saving up for Coron. Visit natin si Asiong! I can look for promo flights as early as now for August if you are here kahit 3 days 2 nights lang :) or just let me know kung kelan ka pwede :) :)
His video edits are really really good, yun din talaga kasi ang passion nya.. It would be fun if we can visit him there..

  15. Hi Cher Kat,

I already have a flight via PAL to Coron from August 1-4. I had the ticket since March 9 and informed Asiong about it. Kung gusto mo, book ka na lang ng ticket then meet na lang tayo duon. Siya na daw maghanap ng hotel for me then siya na din guide natin for the tour.
